Nuestros grandes errores surgen muy frecuentemente de motivos que se apoyan en creencias que el consenso avala, y que nos parecen «naturales». Vivimos inmersos en prejuicios, en pensamientos prepensados que se conservan y se repiten porque, cuando fueron creados, quedó asumido que funcionaron bien. Es claro que no podríamos vivir si tuviéramos, continuamente, que repensarlo todo. Pero también que hay prejuicios negativos que el entorno nos contagia, que también retransmitimos, y que más nos valdría repensar.
